Corrine Hill elected to International leadership board

The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions has elected Chattanooga Public Library Executive Director Corinne Hill to serve in a position on the Governing Board’s Standing Committee for the upcoming 2013-2017 term.

The IFLA represents the interests of library and information services and their users.

Hill was nominated and elected to serve in the Public Libraries Section of the Standing Committee. The Standing Committee develops and monitors the program of the Section. The Public Libraries Section provides an international forum for the development and promotion of public libraries.

In August, Hill will attend the IFLA World Library and Information Congress’s 79th General Conference and Assembly in Singapore, where she will officially begin her term and participate in elections for the Standing Committee Chair and officers.

Hill has been the executive director of the Chattanooga Public Library since March 2012. She recently addressed the FCC during the 2013 Broadband Summit and was a presenter on the Leadership & Collaborative Innovation panel at the NextLibrary 2013 Conference in Denmark. Prior to Chattanooga, Hill served as the interim director of libraries for the Dallas Public Library. She is a current member of the American Library Association, The Public Library Association, and the National Association to Promote Library Services to Latinos.
