The Lucile Miller Wright Scholarship program has named Jariah Chapman, a member of Girls Inc. of Chattanooga and a senior at Brainerd High School, a 2020 Girls Inc. National Scholar and awarded Chapman a $20,000 scholarship.
Chapman was selected for her outstanding academic achievements and community service work.
She is one of 23 Girls Inc. National Scholars selected in 2020 from across the U.S. and Canada.
Girls Inc. created the Lucile Miller Wright Scholarship program in 1992, when the female pilot and longtime supporter gave a bequest for scholarships for young women.
Since 1993, over $6.3 million in scholarships have made post-secondary education more accessible to more than 800 high school women.
