Fifteen bands, two food trucks and a multitude of artists will convene Saturday, Aug. 24 from noon-10 p.m. at The Camp House (149 E. M L King Blvd.) for PAWnaroo. The music and arts festival will benefit Pet Placement Center, a local no-kill animal shelter. Atlanta-based bands Fairshake, World’s Greatest Dad and Clavicle will be among those playing. The early hours of the event will be family friendly, with face painting for kids and dogs from Pet Placement Center on-site. The content will become more adult-oriented in the evening. National Treasures at Point Park
The 11th annual National Treasures at Point Park is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 5 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The event will benefit National Park Partners (formerly Friends of Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park and Friends of Moccasin Bend). Chattanooga’s Holistic Fall Festival
Chattanooga’s Holistic Fall Festival will take place Saturday, Sept. 7 at Crabtree Farms from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Admission to the festival is free. League of Women Voters fundraiser
The League of Women Voters will celebrate the Chattanooga women involved in the effort to enfranchise women at a fundraising event Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 6-8 p.m. at The Feed Table and Tavern on West Main Street. Executive Chef Charlie Loomis will prepare a gourmet meal, Chattanooga historian Linda Moss Mines will portray Chattanooga suffragist Abby Crawford Milton and jazz pianist Michelle Pranoto of Lee University’s music department will perform. Racial justice workshop
Local education nonprofit The Chattery will host author Austin Channing Brown for an open-to-the-public racial justice workshop on Friday, Sept. 27 at The Camp House.
