The Tennessee Society of CPAs recently announced the election of its 2019-20 Chattanooga Chapter officers.
The newly elected officers include Tony Sanders of Unum, president; John Eaves of Henderson, Hutcherson and McCullough, president-elect; Jeff Smith of Elliott Davis, vice president; Tara Moore of Unum, secretary; and Andrew Glenn of Mauldin and Jenkins, treasurer.
Parkridge welcomes general surgeon
Dr. Stephen Greer, MD, a general surgeon with University Surgical Associates, has joined the medical staff at Parkridge Medical Center. Greer specializes in general and advanced minimally invasive surgery, including robot-assisted techniques.
After earning his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Greer completed a general surgery internship and residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga, where he currently is also an instructor in the department of surgery.
Greer is an active member of the American College of Surgeons, the Chattanooga Hamilton County Medical Society, the Southern Surgical Congress and the Tennessee Medical Association.
Greer will see patients at University Surgical Associates offices at 2018 E. 3rd St. and 961 Spring Creek Road in Chattanooga.
Youth orchestra welcomes new conductor
Amy Shannon of Hixson is the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera Youth Orchestra’s 2019-20 interim conductor for the prelude and etude orchestras (training orchestras for younger players). Shannon teaches at the after-school elementary strings program at Boyd-Buchanan and is a private cello instructor.
She brings to the CSOYO a long history of elementary, middle, high school and collegiate strings instruction in both Tennessee and Florida, starting with the Cadek Conservatory from 2000 to 2005.
Shannon serves as a substitute cellist with the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera and plays in other regional ensembles.
She is also a CSOYO alumna, performing with the symphony under Gary Wilkes from 1993-96.
Shannon is filling in for Floy Wang, who’s on medical leave.
Creative Agency welcomes Elizabeth Bounds
Counsel Creative has selected Elizabeth Bounds as its project manager. Bounds will be the first in this role for the agency.
As project manager, she will assess and implement project management strategies and software, act as a liaison between the creative team and clients and keep projects on a timeline and within budget.
Bounds brings five years of experience in design and management and a background in interior design, project and product management and marketing to the position.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Mississippi State University in 2014. Her prior work experiences include assisting in the launch of a start-up in the tourism industry in Chattanooga and then managing that start-up for the past two years, interior design work for residential companies and online presence management.
