Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga has kicked off its 2019 Home Builders Blitz by ceremonially breaking ground on a new home. The event will culminate in September and is sponsored by Pratt Home Builders.

Pratt Home Builders will build for future homeowner Micheala Borngne at the Villages at Alton Park. Borngne has a teenage daughter, disabled son and 1-year old grandson.

She’s currently working full time and attending school at Chattanooga State. This home will be an accelerated build during Home Builders Blitz Week in September.

Pratt Home Builders director of marketing Cheryl Moore says Pratt Home Builders will be providing all the funding and labor necessary to complete the build. “Everyone on our team is honored to have this opportunity to give back. We’re already looking forward to seeing Michaela start a new chapter in life in her new home.”

Habitat for Humanity’s Home Builders Blitz engages professional builders to help people in need of affordable housing in communities throughout the U.S. Since it began in 2002, this national program has helped families in hundreds of communities.

Habitat provides affordable homeownership opportunities for families in the greater Chattanooga area. Homeowners contribute sweat equity hours building their homes and take classes to learn the ins and outs of homeownership.
