La Paz Chattanooga opens nominations for Latino Leadership Awards

La Paz Chattanooga will begin Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations Sept. 16 with its eighth annual Latino Leadership Awards. Nominations are now open for the awards ceremony.

Each year, La Paz asks the public to nominate individuals in Chattanooga of Latino descent who have shown leadership and servitude qualities within their respective communities and the community at large

These individuals are typically community leaders, teachers, business owners or professionals who have shown exceptional capabilities to create better lives for their fellow community members.

The initial nomination process for the honorees is open until July 6. A committee of past honorees will then convene to select the 10 honorees for this year.

The public will then vote for the Chattanooga’s Choice award recipient. This award is given to one of the selected honorees for their outstanding connection to the community in which they are involved.

The banquet and ceremony will be held at the Chattanooga Convention Center. Tickets and tables are available for purchase at lapazchattanooga.org/awards.
