The 32nd annual Spring Garden Tour will take place Saturday, June 15, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sunday, June 16, 1-6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased on the day of the event at any of the gardens on the tour. Proceeds from the Spring Garden Tour benefit educational and scholarship programs sponsored by the Chattanooga Area Food Bank and the Master Gardeners of Hamilton County. Information. Exploring Chattanooga’s rich history
Author and filmmaker Dean Arnold will give a series of talks on Chattanooga’s history this summer. The first lecture will take place Tuesday, June 18, 5-6:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga Public Library. Arnold will cover events that led to the Trail of Tears in the 19th century including the assassinations of key leaders, arrests of missionaries and riots stemming from multiracial marriages.
World Refugee Day
Bridge Refugee Services will host a World Refugee Day celebration at The Camp House, 149 E. MLK Blvd., on Thursday, June 20, 6-8 p.m. This family-friendly event will include opportunities to learn more about the cultures and experiences of refugees, including international appetizers, live music and dance performances. Barefoot Nellie to headline July 4 celebration at Jewish Cultural Center
The Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga invites the community to celebrate Independence Day with an indoor picnic Thursday, July 4, 11:30 a.m., at the Jewish Cultural Center, 5461 North Terrace Road.
