Newsmakers: Specialist on aging joins CHI Memorial




Deborah Ballard has joined the staff of CHI Memorial Center for Healthy Aging. Ballard received her nursing degree from Emory University in Atlanta and her master’s in nursing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Animal Center welcomes surgeon

Animal Emergency & Specialty Center has added Dr. Jessica Leeman-Goepp to its surgical staff in Chattanooga.

Leeman-Goepp attended veterinary school at the University of Florida. She then completed a small animal internship at Louisiana State University and small animal surgery residency at Seattle Veterinary specialists. She became board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2017.

Upon completion of her residency, Leeman-Goepp worked emergency and surgery at Seattle Veterinary Specialists for three years. She served as the surgery internship director during the last two years of her employment and contributed to veterinary literature.

Leeman-Goepp remains active in her community by providing continuing education to local veterinarians and their staff. Her areas of interest include challenging soft tissue cases and surgical emergencies.

Estes added at Southside Creative

Southside Creative has hired Jordan Estes to oversee the studio’s digital services. Estes joins Southside Creative with experience as a digital marketing specialist for local and regional businesses in a variety of industries.

In his new role, Estes is focusing on expanding the digital presence of Southside Creative’s existing clients though websites, email marketing, Google Ads, SEO, social media and other digital solutions while counseling businesses on digital brand strategy.

Estes previously worked as marketing coordinator at Library Ideas. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Greensboro College in North Carolina.

Creek joins Barge Water Services

Wendy Creek has joined Barge Design Solutions as water services director of projects. Working out of Chattanooga, Creek will lead project managers in 15 offices across five states in project delivery and execution. Creek will work with the water services business unit to support business development and growth efforts.

 Creek has nearly 20 years of experience with utility engineering, including water and wastewater treatment and conveyance and electrical infrastructure services.

 Creek graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. She is a member of the Georgia Association of Water Professionals, the Kentucky-Tennessee Water Environment Association and the Water Environment Federation.

 Creek is a professional engineer in Georgia and Tennessee. Prior to joining Barge, she worked as the contract manager for Gresham Smith’s work with the Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources.

SmartBank adds financial adviser

SmartBank has added financial adviser Greg McGuire to the SmartBank Investment Services team in Chattanooga. McGuire has more than 25 years of experience with financial planning and investment management.

McGuire graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1988 with a degree in economics and a minor in business administration. He serves on the board of the Chambliss Center for Children.
