Most photographers use expensive gear to take pictures of their subjects. Chattanooga artist Annie Lindstrom uses her cell phone to take and edit photos before turning them into pieces of art. The Tap House will host Lindstrom’s first solo art show, Cell-a-lluia St. Elmo, Dec 16-Feb 3.
“Most people don’t realize what powerful cameras they have in their pockets and purses,” Lindstrom says. “The light I pull in with my Samsung 7 enables me to grab some dramatic and dreamy shots.”
Lindstrom uses third-party cell-phone apps to edit her photos and to create original artwork for Cell-a-lluia St. Elmo.
Feature pieces include dangling aluminum diamonds with circle prints, a photo-to-wood transfer in a vintage frame, three large canvas pieces, two large aluminum pieces and edited photos mounted on four extra-deep wood panels.
Lindstrom will meet the public Tuesday, Dec. 18 from 6-8 p.m. at The Tap House, 3800 St. Elmo Ave. Information
