The Judge David Campbell Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution presented physical therapist Lindsey Sharpe with the Community Service Award at its Feb. 14 meeting.
Through her work with at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger children, Sharpe saw a need for children with disabilities to experience life without limitations and co-founded Camp Horizon with her late husband, Steven Sharpe, in 2005.
For one weekend each year, Sharpe invites campers to go swimming, canoeing, horseback riding and more with other youth with similar issues. High school campers can also experience the region’s only handicap-accessible zip line. There is no cost to the campers or their families.
Eleven campers participated during the first weekend in 2005; the camp grew to 44 campers in 2019. The camp is staffed by volunteers consisting primarily of therapy staff from Erlanger Children’s Hospital and physical and occupational therapy students from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

HHM welcomes senior Level CPAs
HHM Certified Public Accountants has added Steven Ramsey and Susan Jeffery to the Chattanooga office. Both join the firm as senior tax managers.
Ramsey brings over 30 years of comprehensive tax experience to the firm. As a senior tax manager, he’ll provide tax review and tax planning services for a variety of clients, as well as tax compliance and analyses.
Before joining HHM CPAs, Ramsey did a six-year stretch with a top-four CPA firm before spending 25 years with a smaller regional firm. Ramsey has a degree in accounting from Penn-West Edinboro University in Pennsylvania.
Jeffery has over 20 years of accounting experience and will provide tax compliance and tax advisory services for corporate, partnership and high net worth individuals, as well as tax planning for retail automobile dealerships, related entities and related dealer principals.
Jeffery has spent much of her career specializing in the auto dealership services niche and most recently worked for a top 10 CPA firm. She’s a graduate of DePauw University.
