The local Queen of Wreaths, Darlene Brown, is the recipient of Greater Chattanooga Realtors’ Good Neighbor Award. The association established the award to honor a Realtor for their exceptional contributions to their community through volunteer work within the year preceding the presentation of the award.
Brown and the brokerage she owns – Real Estate Partners – support various charities in the Chattanooga community, including Habitat for Humanity, Snack Packs, McKamey Animal Center and the Back to School Bash in Hamilton County.
Brown was also instrumental in achieving something never done until this past December – ensuring every veteran’s grave at Chattanooga National Cemetery had a wreath on it.
Brown has a father and brother buried at the National Cemetery. This past year, she challenged her friends, peers, clients, loved ones and the local Realtor association to participate in Wreaths Across Chattanooga. In the end, Brown raised $35,330.
Since 2021, Brown has helped raise nearly $100,000 for Wreaths Across Chattanooga.
“What an honor it is to receive this award from my peers,” said Brown during the association’s installation and awards reception Jan. 25 at Chattanooga Whiskey Hall. “Wreaths Across Chattanooga is near and dear to my heart, and giving back to those who have given much to us is a small thing we all can do.”
