A look at 9 coaches the Titans have contacted

So far, the Titans have made contact with nine different coaches about their head coaching vacancy. Here is a brief synopsis of those coaches:

• Brian Callahan, Bengals offensive coordinator: Smart, football junkie coach who comes from a football family. Father is former Raiders head coach Bill Callahan. Credited with being a creative offensive mind.

• Aaron Glenn, Lions defensive coordinator: Has moved his way up the ranks after being a star defensive back, mostly with the Jets. Glenn is said to be a great leader of men, but would have to show what he would do on the offensive side of the ball.

• Ben Johnson, Lions offensive coordinator: One of the hot candidates this offseason, Johnson will be coveted by several teams because of what he has done with Jared Goff and the Detroit offense. A similar style here would seem to fit Will Levis.

• Brian Johnson, Eagles offensive coordinator: Another bright young offensive mind the Titans will take a look at. One wonders if the Eagles’ late-season slump might have hurt his chances this go-round.

• Mike Kafka, Giants offensive coordinator: A bit of a surprise entrant, given the Giants struggles on offense this year were even worse than the Titans. Kafka comes from the Andy Reid coaching tree and obviously learned a lot there, but after a solid season in New York in ’22, the Giants regressed this year.

• Mike MacDonald, Ravens defensive coordinator: A hot candidate, this one from the defensive side of the ball. He is regarded as very bright and calculated in terms of how he coaches. Like the other defensive guys, he’d have to have some creative answers for what to do on offense.

• Antonio Pierce, Raiders interim coach: Pierce is regarded as a great leader and showed it in the way the Raiders rallied around him once Josh McDaniels was fired. The smart money says he stays in Vegas and gets that job. But if they decide not to, he could be a very viable option.

• Dan Quinn, Cowboys defensive coordinator: His candidacy for the Titans probably took a fatal hit with the way the Green Bay Packers shredded his defense Sunday in the wild-card round.

• Bobby Slowik, Texans offensive coordinator: His stock keeps rising after the Texans blew out Cleveland in the wild card round. Seeing the work he has done with C.J. Stroud might have the Titans wondering if he could do something similar with Levis.
