Newsmakers: Bradley elevates Setterlund to partner




National law firm Bradley Arant Boult Cummings recently welcomed Chattanooga attorney Eric Setterlund as a partner.

Setterlund serves as co-chair of Bradley’s Cybersecurity and Privacy Practice Group and has experience with matters related to privacy, security protections and regulatory compliance.

He draws on his business and program management experience as chief privacy officer and privacy and data counsel for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee to provide advice for his clients who are navigating complex regulatory and transactional matters.

Setterlund counsels clients through changes in privacy and data use laws and assists clients as they respond to data breaches or significant cybersecurity events.

The International Association of Privacy Professionals has designated Setterlund as an ANSI Certified Privacy Professional. Setterlund is a graduate of the University of Memphis School of Law and the University of Tennessee.

HHM CPAs welcomes management-level hires

HHM Certified Public Accountants has hired Joel Freund as director of its advisory services group, Carol Mosely and Jennifer Fryar as senior managers in its tax department and Jon Finlay as manager in its audit department.

Freund brings over 27 years of experience to the firm. As director in the advisory services group, he will provide forensic support, valuation and litigation support, fraud and financial fraud support, forecast and financial modeling, and tax strategy to clients in a variety of industries.

Before joining HHM, Freund held several roles within the FBI involving the investigation of complex financial crimes. Freund obtained his Master of Taxation from the University of Central Florida and his Bachelor of Science in accounting from Auburn University.

Moseley will provide tax planning and tax strategy to clients. With a longtime career in accounting, she started out as an auditor-in-charge within the construction industry and nonprofit world, then switched to a focus on tax services. She’s a graduate of Georgia State University and returned to her alma mater to earn her master of taxation.

Fryar will provide strategic tax planning and preparation to clients. She’s a graduate of Queens University of Charlotte with an accounting degree.

Finlay will provide assurance and advisory services to clients in a variety of industries as well as provide employee benefits plan assurance services. He has five years in public accounting experience and two years of private industry accounting experience. Finlay is a graduate of Lee University.

Chatt. State names Drake VP of workforce development

Bo Drake will serve as the vice president of economic and workforce development and the Tennessee College of Applied Technology in a newly combined role at Chattanooga State Community College. Drake has served as vice president of EWD since 2017 and as interim vice president of TCAT at Chattanooga State since July 2023.
