Parkridge Health System has added Dr. Joseph Zenisek to Centennial Heart at Parkridge. A board-certified interventional cardiologist, Zenisek completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Kansas and medical degree at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He then completed his residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center before completing fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology at the Indiana University Health in Indianapolis.
Before joining Parkridge, Zenisek most recently served as an interventional cardiologist at Indiana University Health.

Cogswell appointed medical examiner
Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp has appointed Dr. Steven Cogswell as the new Hamilton County Medical Examiner. Cogswell will succeed Dr. James Metcalfe pending a Jan. 3 confirmation vote from the board of commissioners.
Cogswell is one of few medical examiners in the United States with double board certification by both the American Board of Pathology (Anatomic and Clinical Pathology) and the American Board of Pathology (Forensic Pathology). He’s spent the last 10 years as the county’s associate medical examiner.
Cogswell’s previous posts include stints at the Regional Forensic Center in Knox County, chief medical examiner in Florida’s 5th Judicial District and coroner for Bossier City, Louisiana.
After completing his residency in 1990, Cogswell entered the United States Air Force, where he served as a forensic pathologist for nearly a decade. He’s been invited to lecture at Quantico for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the United States Treasury Department and the National Forensic Academy.
The board of directors of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society, which represents more than 1,100 physicians in the county, unanimously recommended his appointment.

Mayor fills chief of staff, other positions
Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly has appointed Jermaine Freeman to serve as his chief of staff. Formerly the mayor’s senior adviser for economic development and a leader within the administration since its beginning, Freeman has been serving as interim chief of staff since May.
Kelly has also made the following appointments:
Brooke Satterfield will serve as Kelly’s chief policy officer. In this role, she’ll drive the development, analysis and implementation of policies addressing the priorities and initiatives for the mayor’s One Chattanooga Plan. Brooke, a two-time UTC graduate, joined the city in 2017 and has served as Kelly’s deputy chief and director of policy planning and implementation.
Public affairs senior adviser Kevin Roig will serve as the chief of staff’s No. 2. Roig joined Kelly’s team in 2023 after nearly a decade in Washington D.C., where he was a senior Capitol Hill staffer and congressional campaign manager in four federal election cycles.
Eric Holl will join the Kelly administration as senior adviser for communications in January. Holl is relocating to Chattanooga at the conclusion of Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards’ administration, during which he served as deputy chief of staff for communications and special projects.

Jackson to serve as county’s next IT director
Greg Jackson will serve as Hamilton County’s next director of information technology. Jackson replaces Bart McKinney, who has served the county for nearly 40 years.
His previous leadership roles include chief information officer at Piedmont University, technical director at Lenoir-Rhyne University, technical director at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and 11 years as the assistant vice president of information technology at Chattanooga State.
